Second Brainstorming Meeting

About the Event

At the Resilience Frontiers brainstorming meeting in Gaborone, a diverse range of thought leaders and organizations unpacked the eight pathways, deconstructing paradigms, and the visions and values underpinning these, to drive the narrative towards a desirable future and help Resilience Frontiers identify first-mover actions that will accelerate the journey towards that better world.

Goals

Using foresight methodologies, the event aimed to and successfully progressed:

  • Attain a general mindset of future-oriented thinking, thus enabling participants to imagine the desirable future of permanent resilience and the pathways towards it.
  • Refine the eight cross-cutting and holistic pathways of transformative change developed by Resilience Frontiers to lead us towards a future of permanent resilience.
  • Approach the eight pathways beyond silos, blending in potential opportunities, threats, and synergies to consolidate an overarching narrative towards a desirable future, thereby helping Resilience Frontiers identify first-mover actions that will accelerate the journey towards the desirable future.
  • Enhance foresight skills and competencies within the Resilience Frontiers community.

The event was hosted by the Government of Botswana, during the Botswana Global Adaptation Week.
